Punakha
located in a sub-tropical valley at
eastern Bhutan, reached from a spectacular way of Thimpu or Paro
through the Dochula Pass (3,050 m), which offers stately looks of
the eastern Himalayas. There the Punakha Dzong dates to the 17th
century, situated on the confluence of two rivers, which including
several inner courtyards, golden spires and tiered halls. Nearby the
beautiful sacred temple, Cimi Lakgang Monastery is built in the 15th
century by the 'Mad Monk' - the Lama Drukpa Kunley.
